What Do We Do?
Girls Inc. ® reaches out to girls in the community, offering both low cost and free programs. As a Girls Inc. ®Club member, a girl has access to a whole host of enrichment programs. As a Girls Inc. ® participant, she'll be more prepared to lead a successful, independent and more fulfilling life.
Every day of the week girls across San Diego County are taking part in our irmovative programs. Programs that help each girl confront
the societal messages and issues she faces.
-
Who Delivers The Programs
Girls Inc. ®members and program participants
receive individual attention from trained
professional staff and caring volunteers.

Who Do We Serve
We serve ALL girls, ages 6 to 18. Our current
programs and special events reach between 500
to 1,000 girls armually, with a goal to reach
1,467 girls by year end.
Many Girls Inc. ® participants are considered
"at risk" through no fault of their own, such as
family poverty, gang surroundings and even
homelessness.
More than 83% are minorities and 73% come
from families with an armual household income
of $25,000 or less.
Still, girl-based challenges affect all young girls
regardless of income, ethnicity, or education.
Members in our programs come from all walks
of life and backgrounds.

Where Do We Provide Programs
You'll find that Girls Inc. ® is able to bring
regular programs and membership to almost
anywhere in San Diego County. We work
closely in collaboration with elementary,
middle, and high schools. We can, and do,
partner with other organizations including
parks and recreation departments, faith based
organizations and churches, the YWCA, Boys
& Girls Clubs and more.
Parent/daughter workshops open lines of
commtmication about "hot topic" issues and
reinforce family values. Advocacy symposiums
bring a girl's voice directly to community
decision makers. Girls Inc. ® also conducts girl
friendly workshops for other community
agencies to increase awareness about genderspecific
programming and techniques for
empowering young girls.
-
What Makes Us Different
At Girls Inc. ® we focus on gender equity,
inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold!.
We discuss key issues that are overlooked by
more general youth development
organizations, reaching girls who would be left
out of more costly traditional enrichment
programs.
-
