Volunteer: Your Opportunity to Make a Difference in Your Community
We are grateful to our dedicated volunteers. We couldn't do it without you! Whether you’re looking for a long-term volunteer experience, a one-day activity, or a leadership opportunity, there is a place for you! Helping a girl realize college is an option, introducing a girl to science and technology, helping a girl learn how to avoid pregnancy and how to develop a healthy sense of worth are just a few of the things you can help us do.
A variety of volunteer opportunities are available including:
- Speaking or assisting at one of our programs or conferences
- Helping us plan, coordinate and execute program and fundraising events
- Participating in one of our committees (fund development, digital communications, volunteer development, etc.)
- Joining the Board of Directors
Want to empower and mentor girls? GISD needs volunteers to help our graduating girls prepare for their graduation event on May 18 by helping the girls write remarks and provide public speaking coaching. This mentoring will take place over a six to eight week period, involving meeting with the girls one or two times in person in Escondido and following up with them via email or phone to ensure their progression.
We are also seeking volunteers to help high-school girls learn to code at one of our upcoming Coding Parties on April 8 and May 6. If you are interested in volunteering, Board service or joining a committee please email us at email@example.com.
